Marijuana should be legalized because it is already a large part of today‘s society, which will never come to an end. Its so famous that the people who don’t smoke really don’t feel like they have a say. With all of the problems happening around us, the government should begin to realize that the time and effort spent on battling this drug, marijuana, could obviously be used in other areas, such as gang’s, war and economic depression. There have been many studies performed to prove that the effects of marijuana are bad, I have to say I disagree. There have been numerous studies that show the various ways marijuana can help some medical conditions.


The generation in today’s society have clearly been effected by the exploitation of this one drug. There have been hundreds of movies made souly to engage in the smoking of marijuana. No, I do not believe that it is a great idea for the younger kids to watch these videos, yet all the blame cannot be the kids fault alone. Maybe with a lot more values and morals set froth from the parents along time ago their kids wont be so tempted to do such thing. Peer pressure is among all ages young as well as old. Especially for the younger children with low self-esteem who may feel that they are not as exciting, attractive, talented or popular as their peers. To help deal with the pressure, a young person may become more likely to put aside his/her good judgment and turn to drugs or alcohol to escape.


Doctors have found a number of medical uses of marijuana. It has been used to stop convulsions, relax muscles, and treat glaucoma. Marijuana has also been used to stop anorexia, by helping them eat more as well as people suffering from insomnia, which helps relax people to sleep and definitely stay asleep. It is a painkiller that can be used to help all sorts of people every age. I do NOT believe that it is as addictive as other substances, such as cigarettes or alcohol. Yes it has been used a little too excessively for recreational purposes, yet for those people who do use it for medicinal purposes only and not recreational then it will be less likely to be discriminated against. The main side effects of marijuana in my personal opinion are, Hungry, Happy, Sleepy!


This is the best part. While the government is out there spending countless amounts of US tax payers dollars on trying to ban a drug that is almost legal in every country besides our own there are homes that need to be repaired, wars that need to be fought and schools that need books. Now I see something very wrong with that picture. Cigarettes are absolutely a lot more worst for you yet you don’t see them trying to stop that! The government is only upset at the fact that they cant make as much money as they want with the taxes that come with selling marijuana so they close all the shops that they approved to be open in the first place. The sales would go straight to the Medicinal Clubs to the streets therefore losing money since street value is about double the price. I think there are more factors to worry about then pot especially when it comes down to the other drugs.


Everybody is entitled to their own opinions considering it is a free country so why cant people just be able to ingest, inhale, inject whatever it is they please. This has been an debate for to long and I say enough is enough. This drug really is not that bad. It has proven to cure many illnesses and should not continue to be a gigantic concern as many people may think it is. The people who have never even tried it still have the urge the pass judgment negatively, yet wouldn’t know the anything about it other then it changes your perception a little bit. The legalization of Marijuana is a never-ending battle that the country will never fully win.
